Weekends Are Meant For Catching Up

28 Sep 2013

Met KZ and LL to catch-up at Vivocity Starbucks.

Did some shopping and all of us bought something.

I got a watch and a pair of wedges from Guess at 20% off.

They had light dinner at TCC while I decided to save my stomach for dim sum at Swee Choon.

Met Ranga and Ama at Swee Choon for supper. As usual, it was good and comforting.

Headed home as I got to work the next day while the rest went for drinks.

Dress from Lollyrouge

Celebrated YJ's birthday in advance with the ladies at Spathe Public House.

The ambiance is actually good to chill with friends. Not so much for couple because the music was quite loud and you can see that there were lots of light spots.

While waiting for our table, we received the souvenirs SF and WF got for us from Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Here's what we ordered to share for 6.

Stuffed Portobello Salad

The salad was good on its own. Love the slightly sour dressing.

Spicy Buffalo Wings

Spicy buffalo wings which were not spicy to me at all. The wings were delicious but the portion was kind of small for 6 of us. I didn't try the sauce though.

Breaded Hake Fillet was a safe dish. Again, portion was small then only I had spoon of it.

Lolly-Pop Spiced Pork Sausage

Lolly-Pop Spiced Pork Sausage was yummy even without the sauce. The braised cabbage was quite salty so I won't advise you to finish it.

And the main lead is Mohamed Sultan Meter Dog. Sorry that my photo-taking skills are poor. The sandwich was not bad and lots of salad alongside. This 1-meter sandwich is good for 6 people to share.

We ordered freshly squeezed lemonade which was really really sour. I ended up pouring 2 cups of water into a cup of it.

We surprised YJ with a birthday waffle with caramel ice-cream while she was using her phone.

Home at 11:30pm.

Beorn's 1st Birthday

22 Sep 2013

Celebrated Beorn's 1st birthday at Kerrisdale function room.

His parents did the planning from decorations to goodie bags.

There were really adorable cupcakes with sugar coatings of animals. And of course catering which almost finished when I had the time to eat.

And Beorn's birthday cake which was too cute to be eaten.

Not forgetting the photos taken at the photo booth.

Did the packing and keeping everything back in place in the function room. Got home at 9pm to shower.

Headed out to Boon Tong Kee @ Balestier for chicken rice. The cripsy tofu with mayonnaise was yummy. Missed out a photo of the fish maw soup which was equally good. It was about $15/pax.

Home at 1:30am and I believe I snored at night.

Dinner at Saboten

21 Sep 2013

Met Dare Association for dinner at IMM Saboten.

All of us ordered set meals and enjoyed the cabbage with sesame sauce.

I had the Loin Katsu Set with Ponzu Sauce. When I asked the waiter what's Ponzu Sauce, he explained it's something like mayonnaise. In the end, it turns out to be something like soya sauce with lemon juice in it. Just the thought of it, I am reminded of the weird taste on my tongue.

The Loin Katsu itself was crispy on the outside and not too tough to chew inside.

A set of this cost $21++ including free-flow of miso soup, green tea, pickles, rice and cabbage.

Will blog about Beorn's 1st Birthday Party soon.

Char Siew Rice at ABC Brickworks Food Centre

Finally it's Thursday and I am feeling the weekend already. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to the Chinese too!

Will be having fun this weekend with dinners and parties.

I have a recommendation for char siew rice at ABC Brickworks Food Centre. One of the best I had and it's $3 for a plate like this. The roasted meat is not bad but sometimes the skin is a little too hard and the meat is too chewy till my jaw gets tired.

Countdown to Langkawi

15 Sept 2013

Met Dare Association for dinner at Star Vista.

Settled for Boston Seafood Shack and I had Wild Snapper Fish and Chips. It's $14 but not as nice as Manhattan Fish Market or Fish & Co.

Although there's nothing much to shop at Star Vista, I still managed to buy a pair of Valentino-inspired heels from Footin at $35.

Chilled at dr. CAFE COFFEE with a cookie frappe. The jumbo-sized cost $8 and I got sick of it after less than half a cup.

KZ got us souvenirs from her trip. Earl grey tea leaves and Cath Kidson hand cream.

And also the stuff which Ama helped me to get from Taobao.

We were planning for our next treat, decided on Langkawi and straight to KZ's house to book the air tickets. You need to have such a urge to plan a getaway. The countdown just started.

14 Sep 2013

For the first time, I have an eye candy at work. He's of course good-looking and bakes good cupcakes. How sweet is that of a guy right? I just got motivated to work on Saturdays.

Had my nails done at GardeNails. Gelish gradient manicure and classic pedicure at $50. Loving my nails!

13 Sep 2013

Had dinner with KZ at Seoul Yummy in The Central. Had ginseng chicken soup (half), seafood pancake and grilled salmon (half). It came up to about $22 for each of us.

Took the train down to Vivocity for some shopping.

KZ bought her toy minion Dave while I got 2 tops for Mango.

Chilled at Starbucks till 11:30pm.

TGIF

And because I am bored at work ...

Can't wait to get my nails done and meet Dare Association for dinner on Sunday.

Have a great weekend! Like the fun I had at making faces.

We're The Millers

11 Sep 2013

Watched "We're The Millers" yesterday.

It was worth watching based on the laughter I had. Especially after a day of work, it made me felt good.

Jennifer Aniston's body is really good for a woman of her age. I doubt I could manage my fats that well by then.

A few missing scenes to make the story flow and make better sense. But the jokes made up for it.

I would rate it 4 out of 5. So go get your movie tickets!

I'm Back, Better than Ever

Fell sick for a week. Stomach flu and phlegm killed my appetite that I think I lost weight.

Anyway, it feels great to be able to return to work. As I always say, I rather get busy all day than to fell sick lying on the bed.

And thanks to Lóreal and Watsons, I received the above make up samples. Very eager to try the Bare Skin pore reduction cream to know how well it works.
