Workshop at Make Up Store

23 January 2014

Had dinner at Ding Tai Fung since I had half an hour to spare.

Attended the Make Up Store workshop at the Paragon outlet.

We began with skincare followed by make up.

One of the products which I was curious about was the Cover All Mix. It is a pot of 3 different concealers for dark eye circles, redness and blemishes.

The workshop was about 2 hours and I spent another hour shopping in the store.

Here's my final look using brown eyeshadow and their creamy black eyeliner to smudge for smokey eyes. I used blusher in Carmel which is brownish.

I filled with eyebrows with their brow pot which also consists of 3 shades for you to play around. I obviously had my brows too black. Got to purchase this when I patronize them again.

Here's what I got for free. Nail polish, body lotion, nail file and salt polish for body (so gonna bring this for my next trip).

And here's what I bought. 3 eyeliners, lipstick in baby, eyeshadow brush, lip gloss, blusher in carmel, Aqua Cooling Powder (super love this!).

The aqua cooling powder gives a matt and velvety finish which it's like spring water on your face. This can be used after your loose powder and it's colourless.

I am not done with shopping at Make Up Store and I know I will be back with more stuff.

My Camera

19 January 2014

I have finally got myself a compact camera after years of taking pictures using a smartphone. Yes, I upgraded.

A Nikon Coolpix S6600. The best feature I like about it is that it's perfect for selfie as the screen can be flipped over.

To celebrate, I decided to go for ramen at Ippudo for early dinner.

The first photo I took, I better practise

Shopping at Tangs Orchard

18 January 2013

Tangs had the 12% rebate for Tangs and Citibank members and I knew I could totally use this before CNY.

Here's what I bought.

From Laura Mercier, the starter kit which consists of the Foundation Primer and Tinted Moisturizer which matches my skin tone. And also, the creamy concealor which is meant for eye area. And because of the amount that I spent, I received samples too!

From Jo Malone, 2 bottles of 30ml cologne which I super love their unique scent. Best of over, I can apply both on the same skin area to create another scent. Each bottle of 30ml is priced at $97.

Enough of shopping. I headed for desserts at Ion Orchard before heading home.

Review: NEW GoodskinLab Firm-365 Facial Firming Serum

In half a year, I will be turning 26 where my skin reaches another stage where the lines start to appear (in fact has already appeared) and loses its firmness.

How to test if your skin is firm? Try gently pulling your skin and see if it returns to its usual state within split second. Another way is to see how 'V' your jaw line is.

I tried using the new GoodskinLab FIrm-365 Facial Firming Serum. As it is a serum, it should be applied after your toner/lotion but before your moisturizer.

You can use this not just on your face but on your neck as well. Your neck does tell your age too so better be safe than sorry.

1) Pump 3-5 drops of the serum onto the back on your hand.

2) Dot onto the main areas on your face but avoid eye area. You can apply more on your forehead, cheeks, jaw line and neck.

3) Massage your face allowing the serum to be absorbed.

There's no sticky or tight feeling left on the face and neck and gives me instant radiance. You can see that my forehead and nose are glowing even before I applied moisturizer.

FIrm-365 is now retailing at $68 only at SaSa. And with purchase of the Firm-365, you can purchase the Eliplex-2 at only $49 instead of the usual price $68. Eylipex-2 consist of a fast-acting day gel and long-lasting night balm specially for your eye area.

There is a contest going on for 5 lucky people to win a $200 GSL product hamper and $200 worth of SaSa Gift Certificates. Here's what you need to do.

1) Like SaSa SG Facebook
2) Strike a "V" pose like me and post it on SaSa SG Facebook

Upon posting your photo, you may redeem a Firm-365 sample from any SaSa outlet or Samplestore.com.

Contest ends on 9 Feb 2014 so hurry!

Day 3 in Hong Kong

02 Jan 2013

Woke up at 8am, got dressed up and put on the new earring I got from K11.

And off to Ocean Park with KZ for a day like a kid.

Walked through the old streets of Hong Kong while finding our way to the cable car station.

Took the cable car ride to the other side of the theme park where most of the adult rides are. The cable car rides are inclusive in the admission ticket so must as well.

One of the roller coasters that I went on

We headed to the Sea Jelly Aquarium and freaked ourselves out. You just have to look at the pictures and imagine they were all right in front of your eyes.

Our next ride was Mine Train. It looks like a mild-thrill roller coaster but I was already screaming.

And the next ride made KZ sick and I proceeded with other rides on my own while she took a rest.

Went to watch the show presenting the dolphins and sea lion. Somehow I find them pitiful to have to make human beings happy.

KZ continued to take her rest while I went on the other rides and roller coaster.

Took a cab back to hotel and I went dinner with Ama at Prep.

Walked around for our last night in HK and Ama ended up buying her Celine bag in Sogo.

Bought some pineapple tarts and snacks back for SG.

Boarded the morning flight back SG but Hong Kong, I will be back for you real soon.

Day 2 in Hong Kong

01 Jan 2014

OOTD

Woke up at about 10am, had our breakfast at the Cha Chan Teng just 10 seconds away from our hotel.

Shared Po Luo Bao with KZ. See how big it is compared to those in SG.

A breakfast set of ham and macaroni, toasted bread, 2 sunny side-up and milk tea all to myself.

We then headed out for shopping at Tsim Sha Tsui & Mong Kok. Sadly I didn't get anything as mostly were cold wear.

Another OOTD

We ended up at Admiralty thinking of going to Avenue of Stars but Ama was feeling unwell so she left for the hotel.

Took photos of The Victoria Harbour. Too much human traffic on New Year's Day that I could hardly take proper scenic photos.

Shopped at K11 which is just beside Admiralty MTR Station. It's an artsy mall, meant for hipsters like Ama. We bought chocolate from Agnes B cafe for Ama and of course for ourselves.

Back to Causeway Bay MTR Station and instead of heading to hotel. I pulled KZ to Chanel in Lee Gardens. Guess what? I finally bought a pair of earrings and a key pouch!

Back to hotel to rest before dinner at a Japanese restaurant named Reinbo.

We ordered 1.5 set for 3 of us. The food was great and sashimi was fresh.

Back to hotel and it's mask time before sleep.
